Lakshantha De Mel – Managing Partner
With over 30 years of experience in Accounting, Financial & General Management fields in diverse industry sectors, covering Manufacturing; Trading & Distribution – FMCG & Industrial Goods; Telecommunication Services (Retail & Bulk Broadband) etc. Lakshantha has held several senior management positions such as Group Head of Finance; General Manager; Chief Operating Officer etc. in large Multinational Corporations as well as Foreign Collaborated Group / Holding companies in Sri Lanka.
An Accredited Member of Industrial, Commercial & Institutional Accountants of Canada (ICIACanada) with Post Graduate accreditation from Chartered Management Institute of United Kingdom (MCMIUK) (formerly British Institute of Management) as a Member, Lakshantha is also an Associate Member of the Institute of Professional Financial Managers (IPFM) of United Kingdom.
With extensive experience in Business Accounting / ERP Software Systems from Systems Development to Implementations, System-System Migration and Systems Administration, Lakshantha has undergone Technical Training in Japan on IT & MIS for Business at Tokyo Kenshu Centre under the auspices of University of Tokyo.
He counts over 30 Implementations of Business Software Systems, functioning as the Chief Resource Person, including Accounting / ERP systems of Quick Books™; SAGE™; SAP™ Business One; Microsoft Dynamics™ & XERO™ On-Line. His expertise has also extended off-shores, where he oversaw Group Software Systems Implementation Project, covering 21 implementation sites across 11 countries in the Asia-Pacific Region for British Textile Multinational Group – Coats Thread PLC. Currently, Lakshantha functions as the Managing Partner of Mel Associates on a Full-Time basis.
Thilanka Hewage – Consultant
Thilanka holds over 11 years of corporate experience in diverse sectors including Telecommunications, Plantations, Manufacturing and IT/Shared Services. He has 8 years of experience in managerial and leadership capacity, having exposure to multinational organizations, their leadership teams and managing planning operations across geographically dispersed and diverse group entities. His areas of expertise include Strategy Crafting, Corporate Finance, Business Modelling, Organizational Project Planning and Strategic Performance Management.
Thilanka is a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants of UK (ACCA), an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants of UK (CIMA), and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing of UK (CIM). He is also a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) of the Project Management Institute, USA, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (BBA) from Warnborough University, Ireland.
Currently, Thilanka is the Director / Chief Executive Officer of Real Lands (Pvt) Ltd, a real estate Company engaged in Land Acquisition, Land Development, Real Estate Selling, Housing & Construction, and Real Estate Brokerage Services with a land portfolio of over Rs. 1 Bn.
Thilanka is also a Prize Winning part time lecturer with over 10 years of lecturing experience in ACCA, CIMA, CMA-SL and ABE including paper marking for ACCA qualification. He has also conducted over 40 public training programs in the areas of Finance, Budgeting and Risk Management together with Mcquire Rens & Jones (Pvt) Ltd.
Priyan De Mel – Consultant
Counts over 8 years of experience in Accounting, Finance, Portfolio Administration and Fund Accounting. Has experience in development of policies and procedures in Investment Operations. An Associate Member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants of UK (ACCA) UK, Associate Member of Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka (ACMA), Member of Institute for Chartered Securities and Investment UK (CISI) and Associate Member of Institute of Chartered Professional Managers of Sri Lanka. Holds a Diploma in Fund Management from Centre for Banking Studies Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
